You know that one delegate diligently scribbling away on her notepad or typing away furiously on her keyboard, intently listening all the while?  She's armed with preparation and has worked hard to get herself all the necessary information to slay her competitors and she's even thought of solutions. Well, imagine she wasn't a delegate, but a chair. Introducing to you, Nandhitha M, the chairperson of UNSC!

Hardworking, committed and steady in her approach, Nandhitha has been the chair of our last year's mini-MUN and has ample experience doing what she loves doing - being a MUNner, of course! Aside from this fairly obvious hobby, she has a borderline insane obsession with the British series Sherlock and can quite proudly proclaim that she's a Benedectian (or whatever they call them these days). Be it a quiz on books, mythology or even just films - she's got you covered. But I suspect she'd probably fare much better if there was a quiz on Sherlock-lore. And yes, she does have to resume normal life, sadly, and is in mourning as much as anybody else, waiting until the next season comes out...but until then, she's pretty happy chairing the UNSC. As a chair, she would expect delegates to be well-informed, of course, but her love for puns and sarcasm means that she's equally swayed by any amount of wordplay there could be.

Other than the most prominent things mentioned, as a chair, Nandhitha promises to give you an amazing time in committee, and is most certainly going to shun away those dull moments. She does expect a lot from you guys, be it preparation, innovation, or otherwise. Having won Best Delegate with this very agenda, she knows it as thoroughly as the back of her hand, so beware! She isn't very menacing and a warm, approachable person, so if you do have any issue or query, asking her assistance shouldn't be a problem.
She is as excited as you are and is looking forward to a wonderful, productive session!

MEET THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

A music fanatic, dog lover,a craze for stars and sarcastic to the core, Mrinali has the calibre that is required in SC. Her leadership skills, debating attitudes and presence of mind are going to be of extreme value in the SC. She has been a school head girl, a house captain, a secretary and the position of a vice chair is just another feather to her cap.

Sincerity and genuine hard workers are what appeal to her the most. Responsible and stern when required, we can assure that the committee will be highly productive with her being the Vice Chair. Her rapport with the Chair is not unknown and that will add on to the performance of the committee.

Good luck Mrinali!

A dedicated Whovian, geography enthusiast, aspiring writer, born bookworm, feminist and a language enthusiast, Ashwin is the best person to give HRC to. With an experience of three MUNs, Ashwin is the person to go to for any sort of MUNning help. Yes, he always gives help to those who ask for it (yup, another Potterhead!) And that is why he will probably be the best HRC chair you'll ever have. Also, you might hear him randomly babbling in a language that you've never heard of.  Don't freak out. Just a heads up.

He loves sarcasm and witty wordplay, given that it is expressed mildly without any sass (that is more effective, he says, pfft). But well-researched delegates are those who catch his attention the most. He is also a fan of good, effective speeches. His MUN experience has mostly been in crisis committees, which he loves, so expect him to look forward to some really good crisis management. He's also a grammarian at heart, so be careful while you're constructing those sentences (yes, I know, I'm rolling my eyes as much as you are right now). Of course, had he been a delegate in this committee with the same agenda, he would've won with zero preparation, even if he'd been allotted Burkina Faso (no offence to the nation!) So delegates, make sure you get your facts (especially geopolitics and foreign policies) right, make no offensive comments or sass other delegates and follow procedure inside committee. As long as you come up with great solutions, speak without slipping up gloriously, and are diplomatic in your composure, you'll be fine.

HRC headed by Ashwin is an amazing combination, hence delegates, you are assured a fun and enriching session! Good luck to both Ashwin and his delegates!

SWATI D

Swati D

Do you hear a voice passionately arguing at a rapid pace, its volume slowly rising with each point made? You must've also heard the same voice proclaiming with equal fervour the excellence of some book, or a song, or an artist, or an article, or just about anything kindly interesting under the sun and beyond. Well, presenting to you the owner of that voice and the vice-chairperson of UNHRC, Swati D!

A born feminist, she sure does have very strong beliefs and opinions. She loves arguing and trying to defend what she thinks is right and also demands solid, conclusive proof for any argument presented. She aspires to utilise her eye for finding errors and become an editor one day, but for now she's satisfied with making things perfect, whatever they might be. Her hobbies include obssessively watching YouTube, Masterchef (though the Australian version is probably her all time favourite) and also fangirling over books. Not to forget the endless hours of being on Reddit.

Coupled with this phenomenal amount of exposure to anything and everything from classics to articles on diseases, and a splendid command of the language, she's the perfect candidate for making the session vibrant, loud and amazing fun. She hopes to have a fruitful discussion full of heated (yet good-spirited) debate that's going to make the committee the one to watch out for at MILMUN Coimbatore 2016.

That quirky girl in black-rimmed glasses who loves to insert book references in all that she speaks and writes binding poems that can make tears well up your eyes... That's Akansha for you in a few words.

Her expertise in language and experience of munning and reporting various activities at school makes her the best choice for chairing the IPC.

She's very active and has rich experience in varied writing and debating contests. But at the same time, she is a very kind person. She makes sure everyone in committee understands what's going on and is always open for help. She has a lot of interesting plans for IPC.

So good luck to the IP Journalism team!
